Next december, 20.000 diplomats will converge toward Paris for COP21, the 21st U.N. climate summit, in what is announced as yet another very last chance to save us all. But over the last 20 summits of this kind, the worldwide co2 emissions have doubled.

Ahead of this, 100+ makers, designers, engineers, and more, will join forces this summer for a unique 5-week innovation camp of co-living and co-making, in an old french castle. Together, they will create 12 open and sustainable products “sexy like Apple but open like Linux”, in the areas of energy, housing, food, mobility and the circular economy. And then showcased to the world ahead and during the climate summit, in a unique blend of “IKEA Catalog” and Whole Earth Catalog.

This is POC21: a "proof of concept" that open source, the maker movement and distributed fabrication, can help us spread the means and tools for sustainable living. This project is the latest and biggest endeavour from OuiShare, in co-production with our friends OpenState, organizers of the infamous "Palomar5" innovation camp in 2009 in Berlin.

During this keynote, the firs 7 projects participating to the POC21 innovation camp will be revealed, as well our plans for the immediate and long-term future.
